Sons of Anarchy Spin-Off 'Mayans MC' Coming to FX

When one door closes, another one opens. That said, ten years after Sons of Anarchy first aired comes an announcement that FX will air a spin-off called Mayans MC, says The Hollywood Reporter.

As you could’ve guessed, the spin-off is centered on the Mayans, a rival gang of Sons of Anarchy Motorcycle Club Redwood Original (SAMCRO). As Variety puts it, Mayans MC will serve as “the next chapter” of SOA, focusing on EZ Reyes’ (JD Pardo) release from prison and the Mayan MC charter along the California/Mexico border.

SOA creator Kurt Sutter worked with writer and co-creator Elgin James to bring the spin-off to life. The 10-episode season will star Pardo and Edward James Olmos, with a cast that also includes Sarah Bolger, Clayton Cardenas, Richard Cabral, Michael Irby, Raoul Trujillo, Antonio Jaramillo, and Carla Baratta.

Mayans will reportedly premiere Summer or Fall 2018.
